The Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation joined the Kyiv Food and Wine Festival at Expocenter of Ukraine. Over two days, the foundation's team introduced guests to energy resilience solutions, raised funds for the installation of a hybrid solar power station for a hospital, and presented the international art project Shadow of the Night for the first time in Ukraine.
The exhibition, which has already visited San Francisco, Seattle, and Vienna, and has now arrived in Kyiv, is dedicated to the experience of Ukrainians during the energy crisis. Through the works of contemporary domestic artists and illustrators, the authors tell stories of life under blackout conditions, fatigue, hope, mutual assistance, and human resilience.
A special feature of Shadow of the Night is its Ready-to-Print format, which allows partners in different countries to independently print and exhibit the works without complex logistics. Thanks to this, the exposition travels the world with great mobility, drawing the attention of the global community to the consequences of Russian attacks on the Ukrainian energy system. Hundreds of festival visitors viewed the paintings, recalling their own experiences of power outages and sharing personal stories. A standalone highlight of the event was the charity auction purchase of one of the exhibition works.
At the Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation's "Point of Light," guests could charge their gadgets from a solar panel and see the operation of autonomous systems firsthand. Visitors also joined the charity fundraiser and received the foundation's themed merchandise.
Participation in the festival allowed the foundation to unite art, charity, and education around the topic of energy security. Through such formats, the Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation team continues to talk about the importance of energy independence for critical infrastructure facilities and attract new supporters to the implementation of its projects.
All funds raised during the event will be directed toward installing a hybrid solar station for the Tomakivka Hospital in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The implementation of this project will ensure the uninterrupted operation of the medical institution and its critical equipment, even during complete power outages.
