ENERGY ACT FOR UKRAINE FOUNDATION
Activity Report 2024

The Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation was established in 2022 in response to the energy crisis caused by russia’s full-scale invasion. For nearly three years, we have been working to provide sustainable energy solutions for Ukraine’s critical institutions.
The foundation focuses on the implementation of solar energy in schools and hospitals, helping them achieve energy independence within the framework of the campaigns:
The Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation aims to install 150 hybrid solar power stations that combine solar panels and energy storage systems.
Additionally, we are implementing educational initiatives, including the “Sustainable Development and Green Energy” course, aimed at raising environmental awareness among children and increasing understanding of sustainable energy principles.
The foundation has even more ambitious goals ahead: scaling our projects, expanding the geography of our activities, and involving more facilities in need of energy support. We continue to move forward, working to make Ukraine energy-independent and resilient.

"Despite all the challenges, we have made a breakthrough in the efficiency of our work. This is the collective achievement of our entire foundation team, our donors, partners, and communities. Together, we are not only creating energy-independent infrastructure but also shaping Ukraine's future—sustainable, safe, and environmentally conscious."
— Yuliana Onishchuk, CEO & Founder of the Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation
Key Figures from Projects Implemented in 2022-2024

The Foundation contributes to the development of environmental consciousness and encourages communities to engage in “green” projects so that they can implement them independently in the future. We actively collaborate with local governments, involving them in financial participation and training.
Within the activities, the foundation share expertise on solar power station construction, financing mechanisms, and attracting investments. This approach helps communities develop their own energy projects and strengthen their energy independence.

Women in Solar Energy – Unlocking New Opportunities
The war has had a significant impact on Ukraine's energy sector, causing infrastructure destruction, labor shortages, and an energy crisis. At the same time, it opens opportunities for new solutions, particularly through the active involvement of women in solar energy.
Today, women represent 32% of the workforce in the renewable energy sector, but only 15.1% hold leadership positions. In Ukraine, 97% of energy companies report a labor shortage.
The underrepresentation of women in the industry is not just a matter of gender balance, but also a loss of workforce potential. Therefore, in 2025, we are launching a new initiative that will support the professional development of women in the renewable energy sector. Learn more at:
