The Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation has become a member of the Skills Alliance — an international partnership that brings together public institutions, international organizations, businesses, and civil society to support skills development for Ukrainians and contribute to Ukraine’s economic recovery.
The Foundation’s official accession to the Alliance was announced on January 22 in Kyiv during the annual Skills Alliance Conference.
Established in 2024, the Skills Alliance serves as a coordination platform addressing one of Ukraine’s key challenges: a critical workforce shortage and the urgent need to modernize the education and vocational training system. Today, the Alliance brings together 90 member organizations whose combined commitments amount to nearly €1.1 billion. Initiatives implemented within the Alliance have already helped more than 535,000 Ukrainians in Ukraine and across EU countries gain new skills or upgrade their qualifications.
The strategic priorities of the Skills Alliance focus on increasing labor productivity and economic competitiveness, developing inclusive learning programs for vulnerable groups, and supporting the modernization of educational institutions as regional hubs for workforce development and innovation.
The Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation joins the Skills Alliance with its Solar Step program, which is aimed at strengthening human capital in Ukraine’s solar energy sector and expanding professional opportunities for women in the field. As part of the program, the Foundation is delivering a free training course, Project management in solar power plant construction, designed to build core project management competencies in the construction of solar power station and to create pathways for further professional growth and employment in this sector.
Joining the Skills Alliance is a natural continuation of the Foundation’s work, as the initiatives of the Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation directly align with the Alliance’s goals of skills development, inclusion, and economic resilience. The Foundation invests in human capital, creates opportunities for women’s professional advancement, and contributes to workforce development in the critically important renewable energy sector.
Participation in the Skills Alliance will enable the Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation to strengthen cooperation with international partners, scale up the Solar Step program, and contribute to building a competitive, inclusive, and resilient economy for Ukraine.
