If the most influential women from Europe’s tech sector gather at one event, it’s the Women in Utilities Awards. This year in London, the Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation became the official charity partner of this prestigious international women’s award. Yuliana Onishchuk, uliana Onishchuk, CEO & Founder of the Foundation, delivered an inspiring speech at the opening of the ceremony.

In her address, Yuliana Onishchuk spoke about Ukraine’s resilience in the face of constant shelling and destruction. Using the Foundation’s work as an example, she shared how they deliver vital energy where it’s needed most — in hospitals, schools, and local communities.

“We install solar stations at facilities where, due to the war, electricity is often cut off for hours, sometimes even days. We turn solar energy into a force that sustains life: into light in the operating room, warmth in the classroom, and hope for children,” said Yuliana Onishchuk.

Yuliana also introduced two of the Foundation’s key educational initiatives. The “Sustainable Development and Green Energy” program helps children understand that energy is not something distant or abstract — it’s a field where everyone can be a changemaker. Meanwhile, the Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation’s new training course opens a path for women across Ukraine to enter the renewable energy sector, with a focus on retraining for project management in solar energy.

“Our practical course for women is built on mentorship and designed to provide Ukrainian women with the skills and confidence they need to work in the renewable energy sector — an industry that remains predominantly male. This course not only helps women see their potential in this field, but also enables them to take part in the real recovery of Ukraine’s energy system, while feeling the support of a strong community of women,” Yuliana noted from the stage.

During the ceremony, donations were collected in support of the Foundation’s projects — not only as assistance, but also as a sign of solidarity from the international community with our country.

“I was deeply touched by the warmth, attention, and words of support from the event organizers and participants. The Women in Utilities Awards is not just an event that honors women who are changing the world — it’s a gathering that unites us and strengthens our faith in the future,” said the CEO & Founder of the Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation.

We are proud to be the voice of Ukraine at international events that move the world toward sustainability, equality, and innovation.
