Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation announces new 2026–2028 strategy
Over four years of full-scale war, the Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation has successfully deployed 36 solar energy projects for Ukrainian schools, hospitals, and water utilities. Alongside these physical solutions, the Foundation has accumulated something equally valuable: deep practical expertise. The time has come to pass it on.
The Foundation’s new 2026–2028 strategy places human capital development at the very center of its mission. Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation is transitioning into a comprehensive capacity-building platform for green energy.
What is Changing
The cornerstone of our operations is now Solar Step—an educational initiative designed to transfer practical knowledge and skills in renewable energy. The program empowers individuals and communities who want to spearhead green energy development independently, helping them to:
assess the costs, payback periods, and overall impact of renewable energy projects;
prepare feasibility studies, documentation, and proposals to secure funding;
implement their own energy solutions;
gain practical skills for careers in the clean energy sector.

We did what we considered critically necessary at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Today, Ukrainian society needs more than just turnkey solutions—it needs the knowledge and skills to create these solutions independently. Solar Step is becoming our primary educational focus, serving as a flagship program to transfer hands-on expertise and develop green energy skills. What Remains
Our core project activities will not stop. The Foundation will continue building solar power plants for critical infrastructure. In parallel, we are strengthening our advocacy and information wing: monitoring and analyzing renewable energy developments in Ukraine, showcasing Ukrainian resilience on global platforms, and presenting new sectoral opportunities to international donors and partners.
Why Now?
The logic behind this pivot is simple: one constructed solar plant protects a single facility. A thousand trained individuals can implement thousands of solutions across their own communities. A country’s sustainable energy capacity is built not just with infrastructure, but through the people who know how to build it.
