The Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation visited the Intersolar 2024 exhibition, which took place on 18-21 June in Munich, Germany. This is the largest solar energy exhibition in Europe, bringing together leading experts in the field of renewable energy sources (RES).
Intersolar 2024 has become an important platform for sharing experiences and establishing new contacts. Our team gained invaluable knowledge about the latest developments and technologies that can be implemented in the Foundation's projects in Ukraine. We also learned about the latest trends in the solar energy industry, which will allow us to stay at the forefront of innovation and development by implementing modern solutions in Ukraine.
The main conclusions from the exhibition:
The importance of energy storage: Energy storage systems have become a necessity due to high tariffs, the need to balance the grid, energy independence and security. In 2023, almost 1.2 million energy storage systems were installed worldwide, which indicates their growing popularity.
Software development: The PV industry continues to grow qualitatively. New markets and business models are emerging all the time, and intelligent applications developed using artificial intelligence technologies are becoming more widespread.
Ecosystem solutions: Solar technologies are being integrated into everyday life. Manufacturers are creating entire ecosystems to ensure energy efficiency, savings and comfort. In Europe, solar energy accounts for 78% of all renewable energy sources.
E-mobility: The electric vehicle market continues to grow rapidly. At the same time, the development of charging infrastructure is also growing, which contributes to the popularisation of electric transport.
Industrial and floating photovoltaic power plants: Combining solar energy with agriculture is becoming a trend for the next decade. Thanks to this, the industry can independently meet its electricity generation needs.
The knowledge gained and new contacts will help us to improve and expand the Foundation's activities in Ukraine. We are already actively implementing advanced technologies to install hybrid solar power plants in schools and hospitals in the affected regions, which will contribute to energy independence and environmental awareness of our citizens in the long run.
