To promote equal rights and opportunities for women and men in accessing educational programs and professional development within the renewable energy sector, Yuliana Onishchuk, CEO & Founder of the Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation, and Kateryna Levchenko, the Government commissioner for gender policy, have signed a Memorandum of cooperation.

The key objectives of this partnership include advancing gender equality in renewable energy (RES) professions, raising public awareness about the potential of renewable energy, and developing regulatory, strategic, programmatic, and methodological documents that support gender equality in the sector.

To achieve these goals, the parties agreed to implement joint activities — including working meetings, coordination sessions, information and educational events such as seminars, roundtables, conferences, and consultations.

The Memorandum also envisions engaging experts to develop and review strategic and regulatory documents related to the development of “green” energy and ensuring equal opportunities in this field.

“The signing of this Memorandum is another step toward systemic change in the renewable energy sector. We strive to ensure that women and men have equal access to knowledge, professional growth, and opportunities in the industry that shapes Ukraine’s future,” emphasized Yuliana Onishchuk.

The document also provides for the dissemination of the outcomes of joint activities through the official information channels of both parties, increasing public awareness of the role of women in the development of renewable energy, and contributing to the strengthening of Ukraine’s energy security.
