On April 25, in the heart of Paris, during one of the world’s largest international events dedicated to sustainable development — the ChangeNOW 2025 summit — Ukraine made its voice heard loud and clear.
Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation was the only speaker from Ukraine among more than 600 speakers representing 140 countries. On one of the summit’s main stages, Yuliana Onishchuk, CEO & Founder of the Foundation, shared Ukraine’s unique experience — a country that, despite a full-scale war, is installing independent solar power stations to ensure schools and hospitals have access to electricity, even during outages.
Participation in ChangeNOW is more than just representation. It’s a recognition of Ukraine’s efforts in the global movement toward sustainable transformation. Over the course of the three-day summit, the Foundation’s team held a series of meetings with representatives of international institutions, civil society organizations, and innovative companies to discuss scaling solar energy projects for social and critical infrastructure.
Our experience serves as an example for many countries around the world: even in the midst of a full-scale war, Ukraine is not postponing its future — it is building it today.
ChangeNOW is the world’s largest event focused on solutions for the planet, bringing together global change leaders in the fields of ecology, climate, technology, and sustainability. In 2025, the summit gathered over 40,000 participants, including representatives of the UN, the European Commission, green tech startups, thought leaders, and influential activists from across the globe.
We are grateful for the warm welcome and strong partnerships. Much more work lies ahead. Together, we are shaping a future where every country has access to clean and reliable energy.Ukraine is not only fighting. Ukraine is building.
